Island Vir

The island of Vir is one of the 300 islands in the Zadar archipelago, and its 26 km away from Zadar. Vir is connected to the mainland by bridge which enabled the island to become an integrated part of the mainland. The climate is Mediterranean, with almost 300 sunny days a year. The average temperature in July is about 25 degrees.

Along the coast there are pebbly, sandy and stone beaches. The most popular beach is the beach Jadro, gravel beach with a sandy seabed in the center of Vir, which is ideally for family holidays. Beach chairs and umbrellas, beach bars, ice cream shops, pizzerias and numerous sports activities complete the offer of one of the most beautiful beaches on Vir.

Restaurants, bars, taverns, beach bars, a program Vir summer, concerts, fish market, bike, boat and Buggy rental, yacht charter, organized excursions, etc. complement the tourist offer of Vir.

Due to its ideal position on the Adriatic coast, Vir is an ideal starting point to go on short trips to, for example, national parks and parks of nature. Just nearby is located the old royal Croatian town Nin, with its smallest cathedral in the world and a 3000 years old city of Zadar.
